hi when i start my comp it reads "a disk read error occored" and i cant get my win xp home to start ( it stops their)
my system is amd xp 2600+ asus a7v600 mb maxtor sata hd msi graphics card delta 44 sound card 512 mem win xp home if you can help me in solving this problem then you are godlike |

is the harddrive detected in your bios?

i think so cause it worked before and i didnt see any change in the bios

go into your bios on startup just to verify that it's showing up. i'm thinking it is because you're not getting an error eluding to the disk not being present.

Your other thread suggested running a repair install of win XP? Did you and did it work? I am working on a Vaio with the same problem... |
