can't upgrade to XP
I am trying to upgrade from windows ME to XP on a new build but XP dosen't detect my hard drive. It just gives me a stop error after refusing to detect the drive.
specs: amd athlon xp 2000+ gigabyte motherboard 256mb ddr ram powercolor radeon 9200se lg dvdrom bay mount speakers generic case seagate 80gb 7200rpm 8mb cache serial ata |

Yeah, 2000 and XP are unfortunately picky there. They want the drivers for Serial ATA on a floppy only.
The drivers should be on the motherboard CD. Gotta need to copy the over to a floppy, boot from the XP CD, hit F6 as soon as Setup starts, and then later you will be able to choose the drivers from the floppy. RJ
