Windows problem??

Can anyone hel this lady out, she's running win xp home.

"for some reason, i can't open a window within a site...for instance, I'm on an investing site and want to move to another part of it...it shows the outline of the other window but won't open it.....what the hell did i do this time?"

sounds like a pop-up blocker, or firewall privacy setting or something.

She did a "system restore" and it solved the problem. But it came back again. She's not much help sorry!!

I am gonna say it is the ISP or popup blocker.

Did she install upgrades from the ISP after the restore?

I have to agree with fudtone. Sounds like a problem with her ISP. Have her call her ISP Tech Support. They should be able to help her work through the problem. Something similar happened to me a few months back, and it was definitely a problem with the ISP's server. thorlo6

I don't think there are any upgrades provided by our ISP!! At least none I have have ever seen. What kind of upgrades would she be looking for?
