changing password in win2000??

I get the following msg when I try to chg the Administrators password in win2k:

"No NetWare NDS trees were detected unable to perform change password operation."

then:

"You may need to change your password sepratelyon NetWare 2.x and 3.x Servers thatr are not a part of a password syncronization scheme use setpass (located in the system/public directory to do this"

Someone tell me what this means.. please?

the first thing you need to do is log on as the adminstrator first. can you even do that ?
you must be the adminstrator to be able to make any system changes at all.
if that don't work, then a complete reformatt and reinstall is in order. if it will even let you do that.

Are you on a Novell Netware network? If not, uninstall the Client for Netware Networks in the properties of your local area connection. If you are on Netware, contact the system administrator.
