Can't Format Drive!!!

I was given my brothers old laptop to install XP pro onto, and this is what happened:

Went into the BIOS, booted from the XP CD. Deleted all partitions, created a new parition, chose to do a FULL NTFS format on it.. it's stuck at 14% !!!!! What's going on? For an hour straight!!! I was doing this yesterday, so I retried today, same thing. What's going on?

If you know the HDD mfger, its time download and run diagnostic software. You could have a physical error on the drive.

Send a message via ICQ to RJ
At least the model number should be listed in device manager.
It also should be written on the hard drive itself.
