Switching users --> Reponse Stopps

Hey peoples - long time no see,

Me and my sister use this computer which is running WindowXP Professional SP1, and lately I would "switch users" to let her use the computer while retaining all my processes, but after she would get done and just walk away the system would stop respoding. I remember the last time I would tell the thing to "switch users" again so I could get to my desktop but it didn't anything, just sat there!

Yesterday I came down stairs and found it sitting at the desktop less the taskbar and icons... more like just the wallpaper and it refused to respond so I had to shut the computer down (button on front 4+ seconds).

What could this be and how can I fix it?

Right now I am running 512MB DDR BTW

Review the power management settings in both profiles.

alright. Besides that I just had to switch users again from my sister's account to mine and it worked this time... hopefully the problem doesn't arrise again.
