Activating Windows
I have just installed windows xp and i want to activate it... but i can't.... i got to start.... all programs....accessories.... system tools... and there is no icon that says activate windows i was wondering if anyone knew how to activate windows a different way... i am running xp pro

Open a command line interface (CLI) - and use this command: oobe/msoobe /a

i just tried and it said oobe is not recoginized.... sohuld i be under c:\??? or what?

Statica maybe you could help me with another problem now too... i just got windows xp for my bday... and i have installed it as you know... well it was a gift from my aunt (she buys xp in bulk) do you know if you buy in bulk if they have the same product key or what... bc i tried to install service pack 1 and it said that i had the wrong product key but i know i entered it in correctly... any suggesttions??

No, unless it is a corporate version, there isnt a bulk version of XP. Since you had a requirement to activate, it wasnt a corp version. I would suggest you call MS' toll free number for activations and tell them about your dilemma. Be prepared to verify that you have original media.
