problem loading windows

I just obtained a new mb, vid card, and chassis and at first I put everything in and turned it on. I got weird error beeps. I tried taking everything out except the basics (mb power connector, processor & accessories, RAM, power/reset switches) and still got the beeps. Found out that the RAM was bad and switched it with a good stick. Stuff started to work so I started putting everything back in. Now Windows (XP, 1 partition) won't load. Keeps giving the BSOD. When I do F8 and Safe Mode, most of WXP loads, but just as it's just about completely loaded - BSOD. I tried putting in a different vid card, but the same results (and I know this one works). I tried putting in the Win CD for a restore, but then it takes me to the BSOD and says "DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" and says there's something wrong with atapi.sys, bad address/date stamp. Funny thing is that yesterday I went in for A+ certification testing for hardware and passed, though this problem totally stumps me. Anyone out there to help?

Do a repair reinstall of XP. The different IDE controllers are screwing it up.
