About 15 seconds after I have booted up I get a dialog box saying Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close.Sorry for the inconvenience.
After clicking OK the desktop clears and then the desktop icons re-appear and I have no other problems for the remainder of the session. All applications work fine. This problem has only surfaced in the past few days. I have instigated a repair on Windows XP but it has not resolved this problem. Appreciate any ideas. |

There's probably something loading at startup that isn't working. What programs do you have set to load in the system tray at startup?
It could also be something that isn't being seen in the system tray, but is listed in msconfig. Another possibility could be the existance of spyware or a virus on the system. Might be a good idea to run adaware and spybot, as well as an AV scan.
