Forgot password...

Is there a way to get into a account in win xp pro if you don't know the password? My friend has a pc which he hasn't touched in months, and forgot the pass to the admin account (the only account) and can't get in now.. what can he do?

Oh sorry if this is the wrong forum. I'd do a format of the drive but he has important data in the system that he needs. He bought the PC from some local mom & pop computer store which now says they won't offer tech support because it has been more than 90 days since purchase .

Go into an account without a password.
Then go to the start menu and click on the picture on the top. Then click the back button on the new window twice. Then click on the account of the lost password. Then click new password and create a new one(You do not need to remember the old password to change it.)

And next time better create an extra partition for the data. When anything goes wrong, you can wipe the OS without the data being affected.
