Making a user account for gaming?
I want to make a user account for gaming so that I dont have to turn off a bunch of things everytime I play a game. Things like Anti virus,Firewall,Popup stop, and all the unnecessary junk in Xp that hogs mem and resources while gaming. Can this be done?

I think it can. Just go in control panel, user accounts and make a new one. In that account turn off all the junk. Also if your not behind a router you could turn on windowx XP firewall since it take no recourses.

Well I tried that. User accounts, create new account, turned everything off, logoff. I then went back to the main account and all the changes I made to the new account took place in the main account...not what I want to do. I must be doing something wrong. Please help?

No you didnt do anything wrong.... What your going to have to do is take all the junk off that you dont want starting. This will take everything off from all accounts. Then open the account that you want the stuff to load and create shortcuts to run the programs and add them to your startup folder.
