computer freezes

Friend of mine plays scrabble online.
She was using win95 with no problems.
Now she has win98se with IE 6.0 and her computer freezes for about a minute.
Any ideas where the fine tuning could be to solve the problem.
After a minute it comes back to normal.
The site has a chat box if this can help.
Thanks for any info.

system specs are as follows:
pentium 2 400
128 megs ram
two hard drives 3gig each
sound blaster 16
ati 3d rage pro
*******************************************
it seems that when it freezes she cannot type anything in the chat box and also insert letters in the scrabble game.

also often she clicks on a link for a site and ie 6.0 keeps turning forever without going to the internet site.

Uninstall IE6 and revert it to 5.x.
