To truly pinpoint the problem, or to even know what ballpark the trouble is in, you'll want to post the full error message if you can.
But I can give you a few ouija-board guesses for tries at a quick fix: 1) Run a full system antivirus & antispyware scan. Perhaps also run an online scan to double-check, in case your local scanner has been compromised. [. . . I'm recommending this since many viruses use scripts to run, especialy Visual Basic scripts] 2) Check in your System Configuration Tool [msconfig] to see if your startups look right. [. . . either Start/Run & type "msconfig" without the quotes, or Start/Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Information - and from the "Tools" menu select "System Configuration Tool". ---> for help identifying processes, head to http://www.answersthatwork.com/Taskl...s/tasklist.htm and http://www.pacs-portal.co.uk/startup_content.php ] 3) And if this system is in a workplace setting, and you have a logon script that runs at startup, it's time to call your I.T. group. If the computer is a home system, and the scans come up clean, and you don't see anything much running at startup - have you recently added software or hardware to the system? I'll check back tomorrow to see how you're doing . . . Gary |

the whole prob goes like this
c:\windows\system\kernel32.dll line 1 coulumn 2 category Microsoft visual basicscript compilation desccrption: invalid character hey that site u gave me its very useful i plan 2 uncheck kernel32.dll at msconfig - start up, but worried that some more prblms may crop up. |
