Post update using catalog-install later

I have found the Microsoft Knowledge Base Article - 323166, telling how to install updates, so that I can install them later.
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;323166

I went to the catalog site, but could not find the find drivers for xp, I found something like that , it directed me to windows update. Where must I go so that I can find the page where I can choose all hte updates which I need for my pc?

Here is what I followed
Quote:
Download Windows Updates from the Windows Update Catalog
I'm stuck at step two, don't know where to go. Thanks

I'm not sure what you mean? You download them... lets say to c:\ then run them..

What I diid is make a batch script to install all the updates then reboot.

I create a folder and name it copy, download files to there and then do what I need to from there. it is not a good proctice to download things to your root directory at all.

I cannot find the site to download the updates other than SP1.
Is the second site in the link the site to download all the updates?

You definitely need all the post-SP1a critical updates, don't ignore them or you will have Sasser on your hands.

I spent nearly 3 hours updating to the latest patches after clean install that time. Update the NAV, no virus. Router firewall is better than software right?

Yes, but it's also recommended to enable the XP firewall till you are all patched and updated.

Your choice - I won't recommend one way or the other.

I found this program a while ago, haven't tested it, but it's supposed to scan for Windows updates and offer links for download.
