I found something on a dutch server forum on this . there they say this is the database engine from arcserve . the person that posted over there found that rds.exe had a very high I/O. i dont know what this arcserve is though

Arcserve is backup software, usually used on servers with tape drives.

I have ARCserve backup software, but should it keep the processor at 100% at all time? I can not shut it down in task manager and it will not quit when I stop services that are running for ARCserve.

i have come across this prob at a customers shop the fix was on the ARCserver web site you have to login so i cant post a link do a support search for rds.exe 100% cpu and it gives you the fix
