Curious screen in XP boot
When I boot up XP I am getting a screen that says
Preboot Execution Environment PXE v2.43 Client Mac Addr (then a string of letters and numbers) It sticks here for about 45 seconds then says PXE-E53 No boot name received I have never seen this. What is it? Windows boots fine after that but it adds quite a bit of time. -Spartan |

I would just take a guess that your PC is set to boot from a network source ahead of the main harddrive, so it sounds like it is trying to look for a boot source on the network first and when it doesn't find one, it then goes ahead and boots from the harddrive.

Good, glad you found it, although I never heard of "onboard boot ROM", but It just sounded like a boot setting in the BIOS to me that had to be causing that..
