Adding command line to program in startup folder

I have a program that always loads at startup. I used MS Config to stop it, but because it doesn't load the program goes back to its default settings.
I was told to add "--startup" or "--startup--once" to the command line under propereties of the shortcut in the start folder. I tried that but keep getting the error about wrong path. I'm not good with command lines, any help?

The program is KX Mixer (3rd party driver package for SB Live audio card (instead of that grossly bloated mess from Creative).

I'm running 2k.

You might try enclosing the path to the program in quotes:

e.g."C:\Program Files\KXMixer\KXmixer.exe" --startup.

By the way, that is a beautiful driver you are using, way better than the Creative crap. I use it too, and I love it.

That's why I'm tring to use it, BUT if you don't let the program start, it loads the defaults including muteing the AC97 audio and checking the 'swap front & rear'! Both are a issue here. I have to use the front output and I'm using AC97 audio!

I tried putting outside the quotes just as you typed, but still got the error.

Have you done any editing of the registry setings?

Try
"C:\Program Files\KXMixer\KXmixer.exe" --help
or
"C:\Program Files\KXMixer\KXmixer.exe" /?
from the command line to see if there is a help file for your options.

I'm using Creative SB Live! 5.1 DE and the KX drivers worked out of the box.

Have you tried the speaker setup button in the main mixer panel?
