I swapped out my Soltek for an Asus over the weekend and got a surprise; XP gave me 3 reboots and then locked till I called M$.
This was after a repair install instead of a reformat. Is this usual ?

Could have just been a date problem. did you set the date before or after the 3rd boot?
( I recently had just the opposite happen. It took XP about 2 months to figure out I did the last update and wanted reactivation.) |

I set it before I ran the repair install.
I'd say the "date problem" is the right call. |
