Folder Icon Arrangement Stays Put Now!

I had a peculiar problem that was difficult to describe. Basically, the "REMEMBER EACH FOLDER's VIEW" setting got corrupted.

If I worked out of Windows Explorer or My Computer, the folders and files were just fine. My Control Pannel would not hold the arrangement I had left it. When I entered the Control Pannel, more often than not, I would have to right click to rearrange it.

It was a bit tedious and tiresome with applications. Each time I went to SAVE AS or OPEN, the subfolders and files within had their own arrangement. It's gets old each time I had to hop around, I would have to right click to arrange. If I left the folder and returned, I would have to right click again to find where I was at.

To solve this issue :

1. Start REGEDIT.EXE

2. Delete "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\BagMRU"
3. Delete "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\Bags"
4. Close REGEDIT.EXE

I rebooted. The folders now remember their arrangement.

It's actually a bit weird having everything arranged in order now. The peculiar thing was, when it was discomboobiated it had an order. But I couldn't figure out the complete logic. I guess I almost got accustomed to it!

Probably should use Regedt32.exe instead of Regedit.exe . You don't have the full functionality using Regedit.ext on NT/2K systems. On XP, Regedt32.exe is a shortcut to Regedit.exe.
