screen saver

I have my computer password protected with the screen saver and all so that i can just leave the room with my computer running and can come back without it being bothered by anyone..IE my brother but... it usually takes a while to start up the screen saver and if I set it to a smaller time interval it starts a lot while im doing something to the side so i was wondering if there's a way to start your screen saver by a command or by hitting a key like [Ctrl]+[S] or something like that so that when i leave the room i can just hit that without worrying...Thanks in Advance!

There is a tweak you can do so that if the screensaver comes on, within a certain time zone, you can just move the mouse and it wont as for a password yet. After that set time period, it'll ask for the password again. Interested?

I remember seeing a tweak where when you brought your mouse in the corner on the screen it enabled/disabled the screensaver but I cant find it.

EDIT: I looked everywhere and cant find it but I found this http://www.snapfiles.com/get/sscontrol.html But I just found it on google so for all I know it could be full of spyware.

heres the registry tweak that i think m3talc0re was referring to:
Go to Start --> Run and type regedit.exe

Browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windwos NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

Modify ScreenSaverGracePeriod. The value is stored in seconds.

You should be able to give yourself enough of a grace period to not lock yourself out but still keep your pc secure.

hope that helps
mike

I use this all the time fast and easy. On my 2k the default option is "Lock Computer" so all I do it crtl-ald=del then enter (is a bigger button than "k") how ever this might not work on all systems
