local disks windows/folders automatically load at startup

i have drives C,D,E,F on my hard drives. However recently when i startup my computer, the D,E,F drives folders/windows will automatically open up and this is quite frustrating to me because i have to close every of them each time.
Can anyone tell what the problem is and how to fix it?
many thanks.

Hello and welcome to PC Mech,

have you done anything just before this error occured the first time ? Or did it just happen on its own ?
It's probably some kind of virus, or spyware. Have you scanned for them ? You can download antivirus tool AVG and spyware destroyer Spybot of you don't have such software yet.
Also check the startup folder.

RJ

thank you RJ. I think, for quite sure, had not done anything to my PC before this.
I also had my PC scanned for virus(Norton antivirus) and spyware(ad-aware,spy0bot and pest patrol). Nothing...and that's weird coz i thought it was virus or spyware kind or activity too.

Seems like there was a MSKB article on this one, but darned if I can find the dang thing right now. If I find it, I'll post it here later. Till then, see if the article below is of any help:

[...P.S. ... and, of course, any windows that are open when the system is shutdown will re-open at startup = but I doubt that this is the problem for your system. Figured I'd mention it just to be thorough. . . ]
