guy's i have some strange problem with my XP OS this happens every single time with i insert my CD in my CD drive and then i click on my computer and D drive ( CD drive) it just does not access it however when i restart my machine with the CD in side the computer it works fine when i go into the above route. and no it does not auto play however if i leave the cd in and restart yes it does ? this never use to happy in Windows 2000 help

Is it just that CD? Does it happen with other data CD's and audio CD's? You are going to have to check your autoplay settings as it sounds like it is a problem with that.

negative mate , it happens with all my CD's only in XP however in Windows 2000 its all ok there seem to be problem with XP OS a bug or something

Does it register that you put a new CD in? Sometimes you might have to refresh the CD-ROM drive.
Try disabling autoplay and then re-enabling. I know in my old computer I had to do a software eject by right clicking on the drive and hitting eject, whether there was a CD in there or not. |
