winxp boot up

I upgraded the firmware on my netopia wireless router via cable connection and the other pc that was connected via my wireless NIC. After I rebooted the pc that was wireless that pc was a complete dog....taking almost 5 minutes to boot. Is there a known issue when connected and upgrading firmware. I had scanned for virus' and found nothing...thanks

Are you sure that the f/w did not overwrite the router settings like WPA/WEP passwords etc. If so, your wireless PC might be trying to log into the router using a password or a setting that is changed.

As a test, you can also try disabling the wireless NIC and then rebooting to see if that improves the performance.

I disabled my wirless NIC and duplicated the problem. I have had the pc for about 8 months and now even one reboot issue. Now, it is just terrible.
