how to use a bootdisk?

Hi everyone,
How do you use a boot disk? I am trying to clean my hard drive out and install windows 98 was 2000. Would you first reformat your hard drive? if so How? and once I've done that and insert a boot disk it loads and stops at "A:" what do I need to do next? I dont know dos?

Hi,

type in "FDISK", and using that program, remove all existing partitions. Then, create the partition for Windows 98. Exit FDISK and type in FORMAT C:
Once formatted, eject the boot disk, check that the boot order is set to boot from CD first, and then boot from the Windows 98 CD and run Windows setup.

After installing Windows 98 boot from the Windows 2000 CD so the setup will start. Follow the instructions on the screen. After a short time you will be able to create/remove partitons. Now create the partition for Windows 2000 (and any other partition you want) and install it in there.
Windows 2000 will automatically find Windows 98 and offer you the choice which operating system to choose whenever you start your computer.
