Angry Problems Installing Win98 FE.

Hi,
I have recently decided to get my old computer running, firstly i used max blast to get rid of all the data on the hard drive. After i reconfigured the hard drive. I began to install Win98. The boot disk gets identified and begin the process after i have typed Setup. but the process is constantly freezing at the very beginning. The messege on the screen says 'scanning system registry'

also

Everytime I type A:/ Format C:

this messege apears 'Parameter format not correct - c'

I have also tried it with drive D: as drives are known to shift forward a letter when installing but this dosen't work either.

also

One final thing is that Scan Disk Runs very fast, is on the screen for a second at the beginning of Win98 install.

Any help would be much apreciated.

Many Thanks, Tom

Did you use 'fdisk' first and set up a primary, active partition? Think that is necessary before you can format C: as C may not be identified as yet.

Control panel, networks - remove all components and reboot. Have the CD ready when you reinstall your networking.
