WIN2k Log In Options
I have two users set up on a stand alone WIN2K system. One account is for admins and the other is for users. I want it to automatically boot into the user account bypassing the need to use ctrl-alt-del or entering a password.
Q: How do I set the user account as the default account to log in to? |

How did you fix it? It might help for others with the same problem.

Start>Settings>Control Panel>Users and passwords / users tab / de-select "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer" / select apply / you will be prompted to enter the name and of the account that will be automatically logged into at start up / select O.K.

I wish it was that easy for XP. I can't find that option anywhere. I've changed it before but if I could only find it now...

Are you using XP home or pro? I tried on my XP home to hopefully help you out. I tried to view the users and groups through MMC (Microsoft management console) hoping I could change these settings from there but it said this function was not available on my version of windows….
