Outlook Express Problem

using windows XP Pro...trying to send e mail to my son, who uses XP Home Edition..cannot send attachment. The e mail goes, saying file examined by AVG but no file is received to open...can send to my work address, then forward by use of laptop and it goes with attachment..by the way my laptop receives the file and my son receives the attachment forwarded..I use Cox and my son uses Adelphia cable networks..have checked all options on both comp--no security items checked to cause problem - any suggestions??

Can he get attachments form others? There is a security setting in OE to block attachments, look under "Tools" > "Options" > the "Security" tab.

You can also try to "Zip" the attachment/s

Many times this is considered safe content.

Some security settings may block extensions such as .exe, .inf, etc.

Try sending the attachment but change the extension. For example, if you want to send "attachment.exe", rename it to, "attachment.abc". It should be accepted.

Of course, advise your son beforehand to rename "attachment.abc" to "attachment.exe" before trying to launch it.
