Can't type in text field in IE
Help!
I can't type any text in any field on a website. I can't even get the cursor to register in the field. Any ideas? I have inserted Win98 disc and tried to 'over write' the existing installation, but it's no good. Thanks if you can help. |

It's ok now
It's ok, I found the solution.
Go to Control Panel>Add/Remove progs, and try to remove IE. You get a prompt to either repiar or remove. Choose repair. Don't know how it got to be like this, but it's ok now. Thanks. |

The problem you were having is also a symptom of CoolWebSearch spyware. It may be that the repair just got IE and CWS to work together.
If you haven't done any spyware cleaning on your computer, get Spybot and/or Ad-Aware. Read the help files to familiarize yourself with how they work. Use their update feature each time you run them to keep them current. I recommend you use them both since each tends to find things the other misses. Let them clean up any spyware found. |

If it turns out you do indeed have that virus around, it's getting trickier and trickier to remove. Here's a link from spywareinfo.com's page dedicated to CoolWebSearch & cleaning it. The link to download a tool you can try (in case a new variant eludes AdAware & Search&Destroy) is in that first paragraph, it reads CWShredder in bold type. http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/cwschronicles.html
