Windows media player pops up after start-up???

I have a problem. It may be simple but I cant figure out how to fix it...

When I power up my pc windows media player starts up by itself. I just reinstalled it a few days ago after I was having issues with it and since then it starts after the windows start up. How do I disable it? I don't want it to auto start when windows is done loading.

I'm running windows 2000. Theres no real problems with it but I just don't want to have to close it every time I start up my machine.

Thanks in Advance!

have a look in the start up folder for media player and delete it or down load startup.cpl from http://www.softpedia.com/public/cat/13/7/13-7-9.shtml
instal it then go to control panel find the startup icon and click it find the referance to media player and delete it

Couldn't find the startup for WMP so I downloaded that program and unchecked the CVRSS box in HKCU/Run. it was the only icon that represented WMP that I saw. Hope it does the trick.

I really just don't understand what happened and why it keeps starting on it's own. Is it a common problem?
