Win/2000 USB plug & play question.
I purchased a Lite On external CDR-RW. Pluged it in and windows reconised it right away. A popup said it was a Usb storage device and set it up as f;/. I played 2 or3 CDs. At that point I unpluged it to set it up on my other computer (win 98 se)
When I pluged it back into win/2000 it did not see it. drive f was gone. I tried add & remove programs and iit did not see either. Any one know what is wrong here ?? I have checked all connections 2-3 times |

Did you use the eject device function before unplugging it?

Take a look in device manager and see if the device is still listed, possibly with a flag - if so, uninstall it, reboot, and then replug it.

Divice manager looks fine & no flags.
Device is not listed. I have another w/2000 machine so I will plug it in and see if it loads like it did on this computer the first time. If so I will use the eject. I learned my lesson the hard way |
