OK, I am reloading

windows XP Pro. Now, what should I put on my system to block popups, spyware and all the other mess. The only thing that I have is Norton Antivirus 2002. I will load that of course. What other protection should I download to ensure my system is well protected?
Any suggestions??????????

get a firewall, sygate and kerio are good and free. You will need antispyware programs, ad-aware , spybot and spyware blaster/guard are all free and good. For popups either use google toolbar or mozilla firebird

I'd get something better than Norton 2002 - that's getting a bit long in the tooth. I'd take AVG Free over it.

I use them all. Adaware caches things spybot misses and the other way around. Spyware blaster stops spyware from comming in in the first place and spyware guard is a resident scanner. NAV2k2 will do the job but its a bit out dated.

Send a message via AIM to ZeratulsAvenger
Only 1 firewall as more cause problems I have heard. 1 antivirus(go AVG ) as more cause problems. Ad-Aware and Spybot can be used together along with the spyware blaster/guard. 1 Mozilla Firefox

And yes, ditch the NAV 2002
