help on dell dimension 4600
it has xp home, works ok all but internet after it connects to internet gives an error saying it will shut down, and says could not run c:\windows\system32\lsass.exe
i went to device manager and found a problem in SM bus controller but i do not know where to download driver is this the same as chipset driver? |

not sure , i run adaware and spybot and took a lot of virus and trojans, and worked good for 2 days (this is from my cousin) then my cousin called my saying about this problem. i will download this antivirus and run it on the computer and post results later

1. You probably have the Sasser worm. You need to kill it using the appropriate removal tools, and get all the Windows critical updates. The first thing you need to do is enable the XP firewall on your Internet connection or install a 3rd party firewall.
2. The SMBus flag is there because the Intel Chipset Identification Utility has not been installed. That's the motherboard drivers, you can find them on the Dell Resource CD or you can download them from Dell. |

thanks, i download the program to remove sasser worm anf fixed my problem, and i also had to reinstall chipset software, now is working ok.
