Repair Win XP
Hi guys,
I have a rig with win xp sp2 rc1 installed. I decided to do a repair install on that machine with my slipstreamed sp1a cd. I'm aware that it is possible to uninstall the sp2 but its just a question that I can't seem to answer. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the 'new' OS after the repair would be the sp1a right? Thanks |

No. Doing a repair will do nothing to your system as to the sp2. To get rid of that, you either have to re-install the OS or uninstall it, in reguards to the sp2.. A repair will leave all your info intact, and will only "repair" the OS. Everything else will still be there.

Not sure how fully SP2 is integrated. With just SP1 on my PC, I had to reload it along with all the critical upgrades after doing a repair.
