CPU leak
My friends computer we recently built is having a problem recently. Its a powerhouse with Athlon 64 3400+, 1 gig ram etc. It has been owrking great, but recently it has a problem with leaking cpu. When we first boot it, it works like it should, using 2% CPU or so. From what I tried to figure out, when IE is started after a few seconds or so, it begins to LAG BADDDD. SO I checked task manager, it said Csrss.exe was taking about 25% and Explorer.exe was taking the rest. I found this odd, because it wasnt IEXPLORE.exe which is IE, but yet he says that when he plays Warcraft and other games it works fine. He says hes tried spybot, adaware, and housecall. I believe it is most likely a virus, but im not sure which. Im going to try to run another housecall and maybe an updated nortan over LAN. If anyone has had this problem, knows what it is, or has any advice in the meantime I'd appreciate it.

Check this site for a list of processes. It says to check the full path for iexplore because it could be the backdoor.aphexdoor virus. Also the explore.exe could be the W32.Gaobot virus (explore not explorer).

its explorer, not explore, but the backdoor one I will check on. Would that be able to do this type of thing? And would housecall find it? Thaks for the ideas, will look into it.
