Cant log in

I have had my laptop for about 8 months, I only logged on 1 time and ever since just set it in stand by. Last night when Im working my sister goes on it and shuts it down. Now I cant log on at all, I never set a guest account, and I dont remeber any of my passwords. Is their a way I can get the password back? Or change it without logging in to the computer? Is there a free program, etc that could do it that I can pop in the floppy drive and it will extract it? HELP!

You can try this.
Start XP in safe mode go to Control Panel and click User Accounts.
You may be able to get into the adminsitrative account from there.
If so you can change your password to something else.

If it is Windows XP, you can press F5 when you are botting the computer up. There where you see safe mode, you should see an administrator option, choose it, it will boot up, then change password

So you were able to get in Safe Mode?

If not, you will have to reinstall. If you need to save your files first, Knoppix is your friend.

From the forum FAQ:

Sorry, but this is for everyone's protection. We have no way to know if this is legit or you are trying to hack into a system where you don't belong. Forgetting your password is unfortunate, but passwords are used for a reason.
