partitons & Hp sys recovery
pavilion 7935, 40gig hdd, xp home (whisler version, purchased oct 01)
my goal: partition hdd with 3 partitions w/o losing recovery parititon (drivers). The machine came with a cd burner, yet there is not an option to copy the recovery partition to cd in hp tools?? The partition is hidden to explorer. I can see it in disk mgmt but cannot change anything?? Is there any way to get at this partition? I had the idea of simply fdisking the sys partition only, but I am afraid that f10 at bootup won't access the recovery partition. I made a similar post here with a screen shot of disk mgmt. |

Solution: use Partition Magic.

Yup, I was trying to get around buying it because this old machine probably isn't worth the money, but that seems like the best solution. I'm sure to use it more than once. Thanks. gotta love hewlett-paqard
