Boot in the the BIOS, set the computer to boot to the CD, save press F10 to save the settings, put CD in the CD-Rom, reboot the computer, follow the instructions on screen. This will reinstall the OS that is on the Disk you have. If you just want to format the Hard Drive, just restart the computer to DOS screen, type in FDISK, delete primary partition, then re-create a primary partition, then restart & format the new partition.......

What OS's? Make sure all your personal data is backed up first.

...and why would you go to 4 other forums?

After you have changed the BIOS setting to your CD rom drive...insert the OS CD into the drive...reboot, and it should boot directly to the CD.

CD-ROM should be on the top of the list to be your first boot device. Put the CD in before windows starts loading. If all else fails, put the CD in while still in Windows and then reboot. It'll recognize it before Windows starts and it may ask where you want to boot. Pick CD-ROM and XP will load. When asking about formating and partitions, delete all partitions and then make new ones and format them in NTFS. From there on you press the "next" button for 45 minutes.

Cool

He means 45 minutes for process to finish.

Chas
PS
With XP you don't need Fdisk. Just start with CD as first boot device.
