Urgent! Windows XP Install error.. please help.
Hello All, I'm having quite a bit of trouble with my new system lately. I have just recently purchased an Asus A7N8X along with a Athlon XP 2600+ Barton and new RAM.
The problem I'm having lies with installing Windows. During the process of where the Windows setup program installs the setup files from the CD to the hard disc, I get an error that says "w2help" cannot be installed... and it goes on and on after that. I have tried two discs and I still get the same problem. Could it be the RAM? PSU? CD-ROM? Should I try installing another OS or anything else you can think of? As always your hep would be greatly appreciated. Regards |

Did you set your BIOS to boot from CD first, then let XP format & partition the HD, using NTFS (preferred). If that doesn't work try removing one stick of ram at a time and swapping them around. XP is very pickey about ram. After installation you can put them back.
