Win 2k standby/shutdown problem

My Windows 2k installation won't go into standby or even shut down properly without me pressing and holding the power switch. Any ideas please, anyone?

is it a custom build or a prebuilt(hp, compaq, dell). make sure forr all the devices ur using, u gotta uncheck the box that says "let this device prevent the system from going into standby"

these are two threads that i used :

http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.p...threadid=94346

http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.p...threadid=96597

I solved my problem by doing something with Legacy in the BIOS. It was a real pain in the butt when I coudn't shutdown or restart, or standby correctly
