Proccesses Question

My computer is starting to get slow.
How do I know what processes are required, and which ones aren't?

heres a picture of the list of my processes if you guys want to take a look.

Look into this site for "services" that can be set to manual or disabled.

If your pc has "started to get slow then there may be something else causing it. Could be time for scans with Adaware, Spybot S&D , and a updated A/V.

I've went through the list and I've disabled all that I could. It still seems like theres a lot of processes still running. Right now, it says that 40 processes are running, PF Usage at 180 MB (I don't really know what that means), and CPU usage around 2%.

So is this "normal" for XP?
I'm still used to 98 where I could close all background programs except Explorer and Systray...

nope, no overclocking. There aren't any overclocking features for this INTEL motherboard.
