Virus

Hey Everyone,

Anyone know the best virus software around? It seems as though I have a fairly new one. I see IE and Command Prompt windows opening and closing. I cant see the actual windows but I can see them in my taskbar. Also, it spams messages in IRC spreading links of the virus itself. I ran norton and it didnt get rid of it .

I really dont want to reformat or do a system restore.

Any ideas?

Go here : http://www.trendmicro.com/en/home/us/enterprise.htm
The last line in the Virus Protection box is for the free on-line scan.
Be advised that some virii out there will disable your AV and shutdown any on line scans.

I tried it. It didnt find anything... but I'm sure I have one now. I believe it's a virus that will use me to do DDOS attacks and spams a link for the virus on IRC.

Dunno what I should do.

While you are hunting this virus down don't forget to check for spyware also. Some spyware will cause pop up windows to open and close, sometimes so quickly that you can barely see them.

could you post a hijackthis log?
http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/files/HijackThis.exe
Put it in its own folder, click on scan then on save log, it will open notepad, copy it all here. Dont fix anything yet since most of the stuff is harmless and even needed.
