Question??
On my second computer when I first boot up it asks me what system I want to use and gives me the option of
windows xp pro or windows xp pro #1 if you choose nothing it does boot up in twenty seconds how do I get rid of that so that it just skips that and boots up automatically? Thanks |

Do you have XP Pro installed on more than one partition or hard drive?
If not, or you're sure you want to get rid of it, pop in your XP cd, and press "r" to get into the recovery console. Type "fixmbr" and you should be back to normal. Mike |

no, that will repair the MBR (Master Boot Record), so that it only tells your PC to load XP Pro. For some reason, your MBR has two instances of XP Pro in it, and the fixmbr command will restore it to its original.
