Turning off Windows Messenger Service???

Hi, I was reading an article on a website about how people advertise messages on your computer using Windows Messenger Service. The site said that you can this is service off but sadly I don't know how, does anyone know how to do it?

go in run and type msconfig then go in the services tab and uncheck messenger

thx man, on the subject of run, how do I display the Nvidia driver menu as well???, I did it and I forgot how lol

You are better off using 'Services' to disable Messenger or any other 'Servoce' you don't want or need:
