64bit Vista
Should I go for 64bit Vista? What are the pros and cons of 64bit?
Thanks. |

Lack of drivers, and software. I originally bought XP-64 it lasted about one month, my epson all in one wasn't, and still isn't supported. I use software for diving, and until just recently it wouldn't even install, there were some others that I had problems with. So I have the XP-64 disc waiting until it becomes more "supported". I also didn't notice any speed gains between XP-32, and 64.
just my 2 ¢

Mike, he was asking about Vista, not XP.

Well from stuff I have read, 64-bit isn't that supported at the moment, I am getting a Nova-T-500 TV tuner card and currently there aren't any 64-bit Vista drivers infact they have only just released beta 32-bit Vista drivers.

Maybe you better stick with 32 bit XP for a while. Let the hardware manufacturers catch up.

If you have to do Vista...stick with the 32bit...much easier to use and most everything will work...
You may have to run it under xp compatability but it will work...

When I upgrade I'll stick with the 32-bit version of Vista, from what I've read and heard support for 64-bit Vista isn't going to be that much stellar also. I also read an Adobe Blog of an CEO From Adobe that Adobe isn't developing a 64-bit version of CS3, because they say "there really isn't that much interesting in 64-bit OS and that it would take more money and time to develop a 64-bit version of CS3".

It's a good job I've ordered 32-bit Vista Home premium then!
