Vista then XP dual boot?

I'm getting a laptop in a few days.
It's going to have vista on it.
My question. Can I load in my Xp disk and install it with vista already there and run a duel boot all on the same drive with out partitioning?
Thanks
Allan

Ideally you'd want to put XP on a seperate partition...
