no modem in Vista

I just installed Vista Business on the PowerSpec B300.(2.2GHz w/1G RAM)
It came with XP pro installed and a Vista disk. I didn't like the way it was partitioned so I formatted it and used my own XP pro disk to reinstall. I saved a 70 G partition for the Vista dual boot in the future.
Today I installed Vista into the new partition and while most things are going Ok, I have two issues.
1. In the Vista Device manager I have 1 yellow marker it is for "PCI Simple Communicaton Controller" and no driver is installed.
I went to the Microcenter support site and downloaded the vista chipset driver and installed it but the yellow marker is still there. Here's the funny thing, this device is not listed on the XP device manager.

2.My SupraMax 56i modem (PCI) works in the XP install but isn't found in the Vista device manager.

Any advice?

Yep, cant find anything later than XP. I downloaded the XP driver and will give it a shot on monday.
Do you think that "PCI Simple Communicaton Controller" is the OS way of saying its a modem but we dont know what its about?

Yup, especially if the modem is physically installed but not showing up in the Device Manager as a properly working device.

That was a bust. (not unexpected.

Not a whole lot of choices for Vista modems. I woulnt bother but I need to send and recevie faxes here at work.
I see a new company called HIRO is selling Vista ready modems, Tiger Direct has one for 9 bucks!
If it doesnt work I wont be surprised!
I cant find any user feedback on the company.
Anybody have any recommendations... 56K, internal PCI, data or voice/data.
