Vista Splash Screen?

Hi,

I was wondering when you get to the login screen of vista when the splash screen shows up, does the splash screen look disoriented when it loads up?

For me, when it gets to the login screen, the splash screen appears and the bottom half of the screen is disoriented (bottom half is all fuzzy black) for like half a second and the full splash screen loads.

I hope I wasn't confusing

That was a bit confusing. What do you mean by splash screen? And you seem to be confusing splash screen and login screen.

Sorry for the ambiguity. But at the login in screen, there is the vista wallpaper (I called it splash screen). Hope that clarifies it.

Does the problem go away after the "half second?"

Yes, it was never like this before. The loadup of the screen use to be smooth. But now it's all disoriented for a little bit. It gets worst some times, like 75% of the screen is disoriented.

Is it changing video resolutions at that point? If so, your video adapter or monitor might be having trouble coping with the change. I believe XP starts out at something low like 640x480 through the loading screen then switches to the normal resolution at that point. You might be seeing the effects of the shock of switching video clock frequencies. Heat, humidity, and age might make the system slower to adapt.
