Downgrade Issue
I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 and I had downgraded the machine from Vista to XP Pro. I got all the correct drivers from Dell.com that were compatible with the XP OS. It all worked fine for about a few weeks until I got multiple errors of the built in Wi-Fi not working correctly. Not only that but the time on my machine had been corrupted. I had fixed the problem by uninstalling the driver for the Wi-Fi card and reinstalling it. It worked again until a week after, it started having problems and errors again. This problem had been reoccurring for about a month until I was fed up and went back to Vista. After I went back to Vista, everything was fine and worked normally. I'm just wondering if anyone has a clue as to why the XP drivers for the laptop are as volatile as they are.

Were the XP drivers written specifically for the 1525?

They were for a different model. Same hardware, just an XP OS. So I would assume the drivers would work...
