SP1 is in and the file is just a short AVI video. but it does it with every file. I think its just how Vista moves files. Very slow. My system is so much faster with XP. I have 4G ram ATI 4850 with a core 2 due and I feel like im using a P4 with 512 Ram. what the hell... Im going back to XP

Not a problem I've ever experienced. I'd check some other things before you switch back to xp and want to go back to vista later.

Definately might want to check a few other things.

Is this a new build? If not, have you changed anything except for installing vista?

Have you tried to disble things like prefetch, and indexing. That might slow things down.
