Dual booting Vista64 with windows XP

Hi guys i was wondering if you can help me with this one

here the story:

i upgraded my old pc system:

From:

* K7S5A mobo + athlon 1.1ghrtz + IDE HD + AGP + DDR
running windows XP

to:

* Gigabyte GA-MA78G-DS3H
* AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core
* DDR 2 RAM
* SATA 250gig + IDE 80gig
* Running Vista Ultimate 64bit

The Problem:

i wanted to know how to dual boot this PC with Windows XP


i tried to install XP but its not detecting my sata drive to copy the installation files .it only detects my IDE drive

any ideas regarding how i can go about this problem? ive read some articles but im not sure if it applies to my case, thanks a lot and sorry for the trouble

Remove the ide drive while installing the OS.
